What’s On The Menu For Health Reform?

10 Sep

A good friend had a “watch party” last night–where folks got together to view the President’s health reform speech before a joint session of Congress. That may sound completely dorky to some of you, but having been fortunate enough to be living in Washington during the 2004 Presidential election, I can tell you that going out for drinks during the televised debates was the thing to do. It’s not dorky, it’s wonky.

Unfortunately, my wife and I weren’t able to attend the party, because last evening’s menu was to die for. With permission, I now share with you the items being served:

First up: Pesto and Tomato Torta Reform
Followed by: Government Guacamole & Takeover Tortilla Chips
Then for the select few: Rationed Care-its
And finally, for dessert: Death Panel by Chocolate Cake

Don’t tell me that PhD students don’t know how to party.

HeyCheck out Rock the Vote's health care ad with Zach Braff and Donald Fasion from "Scrubs." You can watch it here: http://awe.sm/1RkU. This is the only national ad that is targeting young people, the most uninsured age group in the United States. Here is our press release about the effort http://awe.sm/1Rnb. For more information about Rock the Vote, its efforts in health care reform, and what you can do to help, visit the website at http://www.rockthevote.comThanks and pass it along.
